Autoimmune atrophic gastritis (AAG) is an organ-specific disease which causes atrophy
of the gastric oxyntic mucosa [
[1]
]. AAG has subtle clinical manifestations, responsible for substantial diagnostic delay
[
[1]
]. As AAG often clusters with other autoimmune diseases [
[2]
] and predisposes to the development of type I gastric neuroendocrine tumours and gastric
adenocarcinoma [
[1]
], it should be promptly diagnosed. The most common AAG-related manifestations are
due to vitamin B12 deficiency [
[1]
]. Clinical manifestations may revert after supplementation [
