We read with great interest the paper by Shen et al. [

] recently appeared on your Journal. The authors describe a case of peptic ulcer in
Meckel’ diverticulum associated to a fundic gland polyp in a 18-year-old man. They
show a beautiful image of gastric acid-producing mucosa near the ulcer, with an inset
clearly demonstrating parietal and chief cells, and they label such lesion as “fundic

- PreviewAn 18-year-old man was referred to the emergency department due to hematochezia for three days. The patient had no other symptoms. Hemoglobin level was 90 g/L. With negative results of gastroscopy and colonoscopy, he accepted computed tomography enterography, which indicated one nodular bulge in the ileum of the left pelvis (Fig 1a, 1b). Transanal double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) disclosed a bifurcation of the intestinal tract (Fig 1c), a neoplasm occupied one cavity, which prevented the DBE from proceeding, and a superficial ulcer was formed near it (Fig 1d).
